Change
For some this is a four-letter word, for others it’s exciting or it can be something that seems ever-present and you just go with the flow. No matter how you feel about it, the bottom line is it will always be present.
We have all heard the saying, life happens while you are making plans, so why do we make plans?
If change is ever present and we cannot possibly foresee all that may change or when it may change then why do we make plans?
Our brains actually need to have a focus, a framework to process information through. This way when change does happen, we have guiding rails in which to make a new decision.
Sometimes we make decisions to slow down, sometimes to speed up, and sometimes to jump the rails altogether and go in a new direction.
Often it is hard to see the blessings in change, it can feel like life is being done to you and you are at its beck and call no matter what you try to do. AND in my experience when I am able to look backward I can always see the gifts that were received as a result of those changes.
So what framework will you start your 2025 with?
Will it be an intention of how you want to feel at the end of the year? Will it be experiences you want to have in the year? Will it be financial goals you want to achieve?
Whatever the framework you choose to create for 2025 remember to hold it loosely so that you are able to flow with life as it comes to you. I call this Dynamic Planning, knowing that the plan will always be in a state of flux.
The power that comes from being flexible is that you can make changes in real time which allows your framework to flex and bend with life. At the end of the year, you will still have a structure, it may look different than originally planned AND it will still be a great structure on which to build the next year.
